Artist Relief
To help artists affected by COVID-19, the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation has joined forces with our community as a funding partner for the Artist Relief, a new national, multidisciplinary initiative offering immediate individual grants of $5,000, as well as resources to alleviate the effects of the pandemic. Launching with over $10 million in contributions, the fund is orchestrated by a coalition of national arts grantmakers consisting of the Academy of American Poets, Artadia, Creative Capital, Foundation for Contemporary Arts, MAP Fund, National YoungArts Foundation, and United States Artists. Organizers will continue to fundraise beyond the launch to assist with the rapidly escalating needs of the country’s artists.
All artists are encouraged to apply. Go to artistrelief.org for more information.
Throughout his lifetime, Rauschenberg’s philanthropic legacy continually supported artists and arts non-profits including the establishment of Change, Inc., an artist emergency relief fund, outspoken petitions for action during the AIDS and other health crisis, and personal financial support of artist friends and collaborators in times of need. The Foundation recognized that Artist Relief exemplifies these principles and is proud to be an early supporter.
In addition to Artist Relief, the Foundation funds the Rauschenberg Emergency Grants, an emergency grant program that provide one-time grants of up to $5,000 for medical emergencies. A list of additional COVID-19 emergency resources can be found on the NYFA website.
