Robert Rauschenberg Foundation Elects James Keith Brown to Board of Directors
The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation is pleased to announce that James Keith Brown has been elected to its Board of Directors.
“The Foundation is pleased to welcome JK Brown to the Board, allowing us the benefit of his recognized leadership and experience in the arts and culture, coupled with exceptional expertise in financial matters. His participation will greatly strengthen the Foundation’s ability to embrace my father’s passionate commitment to the transformative role art can play in the world,” said Chris Rauschenberg, President of the Foundation.
JK Brown has been the Senior Managing Director of Coatue Management and an Executive Managing Director, Member of Och-Ziff’s Partner Management Committee. He was a Managing Director and Head of U.S. Institutional Sales and Relationship Management at Goldman, Sachs & Co. He is currently the President of the Board of the New Museum and has been since 2013. He has been on the board of the New Museum since 1998 . He has also served on several Executive Advisory boards for Institutional Investor and also has served on the following Boards/Acquisition Committees: Lincoln Center Theater; New School for Public Engagement, Vera List Center for Art and Politics at the New School, Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts, the Museum of Modern Art, North Carolina Museum of Art, Stephen Petronio Dance Company, Dance Theater Workshop in New York and a former Stieglitz Photography Committee Member at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. JK and his partner Eric Diefenbach are avid contemporary art collectors and have helped establish the Young Collector’s Council at the Guggenheim Museum, which was later responsible for building the institution’s diverse collection of photographs.
